Traditional Building Skills

3 members of Williams Lester attended a 5 day Traditional Building Skills course at Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu in the New Forest. Delegates had hands on instruction in cob walling, historic masonry and historic joinery using the buildings of Bucklers Hard as examples. Shovelling in clay and straw and pummelling it to create cob walls resulted in many blisters and certainly revealed who works on site and who works in an office.
